UC Davis Center for Regional Change (CRC) is an exciting new Y-PLAN higher education partnership for engaging youth in city planning and social change in the Sacramento region. As CC+S looks to the future, we were honored that Executive Director Bernadette Austin saw alignment in her vision for CRC and Y-PLAN Sacramento! Currently, CRC is placing undergraduate students as mentors in SCUSD Y-PLAN classrooms extending their diverse expertise and resources. For example, CRC is teaching Y-PLANners at Luther Burbank High School Law & Social Justice Academy about how to best inform the Sacramento General Plan using their new California General Plan Database Mapping Tool.

This work builds on a many years of Y-PLAN work with Sacramento civic leaders and educators – learn more here:  A Journey of Civic Change in Sacramento City Unified: From Pockets of Change to Systems of Opportunity
